Linda Caristo has been designing and creating jewelry for over 30 years. Her and her husband, Carl, live half the year on Pine Island, FL and the other half in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Linda has been creating art since her earliest memories of childhood. During the 70’s she created hand tooled leather items. Later she obtained her BBA from the University of Georgia and entered the corporate world. During the 80’s she did canvas paintings of landscapes and birds. In the late 80’s she needed a change and took a beginners course in jewelry making. It was an immediate love. She took several more classes and had her first show in Atlanta. In 1994 she took a leap of faith and left the corporate world to start her own jewelry business. She did many shows and received many awards. Many galleries also showcased her work. At the Arrowmont School of Art she learned the rare Plique a Jour enameling technique. In 2001 she returned to her homeland in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. She married Carl in 2004 and in 2005 she became a member of the prestigious Southern Highland Craft Guild (SHCG). Shortly afterwards, she also became a member of Carolina Designer Craftsmen. Two of her pieces were requested to be a part of an important Art Nouveau exhibit at the Forbes’ Galleries in NYC. One of her butterflies was extensively used to promote the Atlanta Arts Festival. In the last two years her work has been primarily featured in the SHCG shops. In 2018 she received three best in jewelry awards. In February 2020 she received the Best of 3-D award at the Bonita Springs National Art Festival.
